DNA's Ongoing Series
As always, DNA continues its commitment to supporting the work of artists
at all stages in their development. From fresh, feedback-worthy works presented
through our open studio series, Works in Progress, to challenging and provocative
experimentation through Raw Material, we welcome you to taste the creative juices of
New York's up and comers. With two new series premiering this year - our Artist In
Residence (AIR) and Gene Pool concerts - there's art to suit the tastes of every
connoisseur.

Works in Progress
Works In Progress provides choreographers the opportunity to expose new pieces to an audience for the first time and to
receive written and oral feedback from the audience to take with them as they continue on in their creative process. Works
n Progress is a non-curated series and applications are processed on a first come, first served basis.
Dates available are Sept 20, Oct 18, Nov 15, and Dec 13.
Please complete the application and return it to the Front Desk or by mail attn: WIP Coordinator with your non-refundable application fee of $25.
Applications are accepted first come first served starting July 1, 2008.

RAW Material
Diverse in content, style and medium,
RAW Material encourages artists to bring new and mid-process work to a live audience, and to experiment
with new ways of crafting their work. Past participants have included nugent + matteson, alexx makes
dance, Isabel Lewis/ The Labor Union, Aletha Adsitt, Richard Rivera, Jenny Rocha, Alicia Ramos,
Anna Sperber to name a few. Raw Material is a bi-annual showcase, with presentations in the spring and fall.
Approximate deadlines are four months prior to showings.
DNA provides full marketing and production support, subsidized rehearsal space and a stipend for artists to present up to 12 minutes of work in
DNA's new state of the art theater. Participants are selected through a competitive review process by a panel of peers.

Artists in Residence
The AIR Program combines DNA's tri-part mission of Create, Educate and Perform by offering artists class and studio time for study and conception,
rehearsal space, and administrative and technical support, and culminates in a formal performance. Artists in Residence
are selected through an annual application process; the 2007 application period is currently closed. 2006 Artists in Residence:
Sara Baird, Miguel Gutierrez, John Jasperse, Neta Pulvermacher, Deganit Shemy and Colleen Thomas.

Gene Pool
Gene Pool is an annual showcase tracing the diversity within
DNA by sampling the work of choreographers and teachers with longstanding relationships to DNA, and honoring those
who contribute in countless vital ways to the organization's success.



DNA Presents
Our newest and most thrilling initiative, DNA Presents marks our dedication to full presentation of
a wide range of national and international creative voices. This year, we have commissioned an
eclectic mix of abstract, modern, site-specific, adaptable, intriguing, collaborative and
multidisciplinary artists to share their visions with you. Don't miss this incredible opportunity
to sample the scene, DNA style.
